Some principles I try to follow
-
Diagnosis should be precise and clear. It is difficult to treat patients with a vague diagnosis. If you render too many vague diagnoses, it would be better to do administration.
-
Good morphologists (eagle-eyed) make Anatomic Pathology great, but inquisitive pathologists who try to understand the disease (big-eyed) make it amazing.
-
When a diagnosis is questioned, it might need to be revised. Think about the patient, not about you.
-
Diagnosis and theories should make sense from every angle.
-
Experience based on reviewing large series of cases and looking at them with an open mind, is unparalleled. Experience based only on the review of daily cases might lead to biased ideas with increasing levels of confidence.
-
If you need to repeat a thought over and over, it could mean that you are not 100% sure about it and you are trying to convince yourself and the rest of the world about it. A correct thought will always find its way in the universe (CJ).
